There are a lot of articles and opinions to the question “How can I improve my credit score”, this is our common sense approach, although some of this information may seem obvious, it is still relevant.
To improve your credit score you need to…..
- Pay back what you have borrowed, on-time and in full.
Lenders look at your credit score/report and see how you control your finances, they can see what you have borrowed before and if/when you have paid it back.
Key tips.
Only borrow what you can afford
If you get into difficulties, speak to your lender, do not ignore them thinking it will go away because it will cost you more in the short and long run. If you speak with your lender (credit card company, bank, loan provider, etc) and agree a payment plan, they will update the credit report accordingly, which is positive.
If you are in dispute with your mobile provider or utility provider, talk to them, do not ignore them as they will report this on your credit file, which will count against you.
Check your file regularly, there are free services available for you to check you file weekly, if there is something on there that shouldn’t be there or wasn’t expected, contact the lender and ask them to remove or explain why it is there
There are a number of ways to improve your credit score, the above snippets are just our opinion. Hope they helped
